This is so exciting...it's Eroica eve!!!
Here in Gaiole it's just about time to get tucked in to bed so that I can arise at 5 am to join the throngs riding off to the wonders of the strade bianche tomorrow morning. The last two days we've been doing some 20 mile warm up rides, which have been wonderful, given the sunny weather the great roads and the stunningly beautiful scenery.
The atmosphere in town today was fantastic. Thousands of amazing bikes and happy cyclists jammed into a town that normally has a population of only about 1,000. There was a great bike fair with mass quantities of bike parts, and also a fantastic food fair with lots of classic italian dishes and wine to be had for not much money. To top things off, I met Maarten (non-fixie) and his lovely wife Marion at Il Gallo and he graciously bought me a beer while we sat and discussed bikes, places, and the wonderfulness of it all.
Unfortunately my camera is currently charging so I can't post pictures until probably tomorrow. I will do so though. The only fly in the ointment is that tomorrow (the ride) is supposed to have either a 90% or 100% chance of rain, depending on which website I check. Pray for sun!!

I HATE riding in the rain. I'd so hate putting so much coin on the line with no control on the weather.
Wishing you dry roads at the very least.
