Does anyone have any info on my bike at all?

Recently, I picked this up. I'm trying to find out more about it.

I'm aware that Townsend Cycles are a sub-brand of Falcon Cycles now, and that's about as far as I've got. Does anyone here have any idea how old it is etc? I'm personally thinking mid-90s, because I googled the Shimano SL-MY20 shifters and apparently they were released around 1995? So, assuming the bike is as it was originally bought, it was manufactured then..

Unless it's yet another BSO? Either way, it rides really nice and has been great so far. I only paid £45 for it.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

It looks to be on the cusp of BSO and bottom-end bike shop type bike. If it works for you, enjoy it. You just don't want to invest too much in it. £45 sounds like a decent price for it if it's in good running condition.

I figured it was a no-name bike considering there's literally nothing online referring to it. I went for it because it was simple and I wanted to learn bike maintenance. I'm happy with it for now.
