Hello,
I was looking on the bay for some decals and this seller came up.....good feedback and inexpensive. Has anyone bought from them, what is their quality like?
Regards , Ben

There's some history between a couple companies in the UK with similar names, which (long story short) falls into good guys and bad guys. Hugh Thornton is a good guy (active on Classic Rendezvous) and sells on eBay as world-cycle-decals. Other decal folks I'm aware of:
Greg Softley (Cyclomondo)
Gus Salmon
H Lloyd Cycles
Velocals
I've dealt with both Greg Softley and Gus Salmon, but not H Lloyd Cycles or Velocals. I've not bought from Hugh Thornton either, though I have no doubt he's a stand-up guy. Personally, I'd start with Gus. He's here in the US. If Gus doesn't have what you need (or can't create it), I'd go to Greg. He's in NZ. Hugh is in the UK.

Maybe I shouldn't repeat this, as it's hearsay, but yeah…. Hugh told me once, when I was looking for a replacement Motobecane decal, that that other guy ripped some designs from him. And, as I remember, only the seller is located in the UK. The decals are made overseas. Memory could be wrong on that one though.
I think I'd stick with who Skip mentions.

Yes, if you compare the ebay pages for world-cycle-decals with those for global-cycle-decals, Hugh's version of the story is pretty clear.
As for personal experience, I've bought from H Lloyd Cycles, from Velocals, from Cyclomondo, and from World Cycle Decals. They all have slightly different stock. I was perfectly satisfied with all of them.
When I needed someone to print the decals for my Fothergill, I emailed all of the above, and Hugh was the first to reply. That's why you can find the early version of the Fothergill decal (which I reconstructed from traces on my old frame) on his site, and not on the others:

As the "Hugh" referred to in a couple of posts, I would encourage everyone to avoid "global-cycle-decals" (was "worldwide-cycle-decals" until eBay forced them to change because of passing off as "world-cycle-decals" who were the original). global-cycle-decals and bicyclestickersuk are run by two individuals who used to do work for the proprietor of World Cycle Decals (aka world-cycle-decals and Bicycle Decals For Vintage, Classic And Contemporary Cycles) and with whom I am associated. One was a graphic designer who was paid many thousands of pounds to create artwork for said proprietor to manufacture decals. Then he decided it was good business and took those same files, that he had been paid to create for someone else, and with the other person set up in competition. If you buy from these people, you are supporting disreputable business practices and making it harder for reputable people to stay in business. We are associated with a bicycle frame restorer, so we are able to expand our offerings to enthusiasts like yourselves - as long as we stay in business. I would encourage you all to purchase from the honourable sellers mentioned - Greg Softley (Cyclomondo), Gus Salmon, H Lloyd Cycles, Velocals or ourselves. I do not hesitate to recommend these people if I get a request that we cannot fill but that these others might.
