Help Identifying Mid/ Late 70s Schwinn-- Sport Tourer? Superior?
I'm considering buying a mid-late 70s Schwinn 10-speed off of CL.
The post is currently not active because the seller is withholding the bike from the market until Wednesday to let me make a decision.
The basic details are these: The bike is listed as a "Schwinn Sport Tourer" and my initial thought was that it was a 1975 due to the Lime Green Paint. It also seems to say "Sport Tourer" on the bike itself.
However, the serial is CP509310 -- which I'm pretty sure means it was built in March of 1978 and isn't a Sport Tourer, but rather another 10-speed model from that year (Superior perhaps?)
Anyway, I like the bike, but am very much on the fence about buying it. It has some original parts, but some newer ones too.
Levers are suntour. Crank and front derailuer are stamped Schwinn
If I want it, the bike is $100. (was originally $120 but I traded in a Raleigh Record that needed lots of love and got $20 off)
Which model do you think this is?

It has a classic Schwinn badge on the front like this (this is not the actual bike though)

Does not appear to be either a Sports Tourer or Superior...other, more expert Schwinn folks will weigh in...but...I tend to agree with @Darth Lefty that it is a Varsity...

Darn. I really don't want one of those.
Assuming that it is a Varsity, how much do you think its worth?

That appears to be a 1978 Sportabout, a model even lower than the Varsity that year:
I'd say it is worth $25 to $50.

I just wouldn't.
Definitely not $100.
