Is this the same person who on the tandem forum declared that steel tandem frames are worthless because they are too flexy & no one should ride one? *So my wife & I whose combined weight is under 300 lbs should get rid of our small Santana Arriva which we have ridden for 16 years? *And of course our Selle Anatomica saddles are all wrong. *Wow, I didn't know how ignorant I was, even though I have been riding road bikes since the early '70's. * **

FWIW, my 1967 Brooks Professional saddle is still the most comfortable for me.

I just completed an audition of a number of newer saddles, knowing that my Sella Anatomica is getting to the end of its service life. Which is not a vintage style saddle BTW, not by any means. It is leather, for what that's worth...
The most comfortable of the new ones was the Brooks Cambian or whatever, the one with the slot in the middle. Most of the Selle Italicas and the like were so much torture (although others think they are great). But as pointed out earlier, everyone's rear is different, and its just plain unreasonable that one saddle fits all.
At the end of the Selle Anatomica was still the most comfortable saddle I have, for some reason a new Brooks Pro Ti and a newer Brooks Swift and B17 are also pretty nice (nice means you can ride on them for about 40 miles without really being too aware of them, after that I have yet to encounter a saddle that I didn't notice after than many miles....).
Next is a B17 Imperial- lets see what a set of springs brings to the party...

Well, you have to hand it to him, people are responsive to his posts and threads. He certainly provides an alternative opinion on lots of topics.

Happiness is, for me at least, a leather and metal framed saddle. Nothing more--- nothing less. And not because of looks, but only because of comfort.
Sometimes they come with maps.
Sometimes they come in colors.
Or just in basic black.
This thread needed pictures.

Yes, it's rather sad that a train wreck draws so many spectators (myself included). BTW, nobody has yet pointed out that since the articles he cited as sources didn't even look at C&V saddles, his conclusion that they support the contention that C&V saddles are bad have absolutely zero basis.

I notice also that he has not reappeared to support his claims.
Further, it appears that the article cited is more of an info ad in its own right rather than a bona-fide review.

I'll have to read the specialized white pages. I don't find brooks to be an amazing leap forward but I do find the right brooks on the right bike, comfortable. I will note that there is a graph of blood flow (FROM ONE INDIVIDUAL) that shows Fizik Arione and the Rolls to be the worst. These are two of my favorite saddles, which proves that different body geometries favour different saddles.

I haven't decided if this guy is a clever parody or really this silly. As though people here need his advice about saddles and he's leading the blind to the holy land.

1619 views since his original post with no re-emergence of the OP. It took my 2013 L'Eroica post (https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...tml?highlight= ) years to hit 1646, and that took not only hours to write and drop pic links, but I had to do L'Eroica to get there!

Everyone has a grumpy uncle. I'm just sayin'
OP's very opinionated, and pretty acerbic.
And he writes a lot. I don't see him taking over Miss Manners any time soon.
I have no idea what he's like in person, but I'd have a beer with him, at least once.
If he'd have one with me.

Stop Making Sense?
Probably one of the best albums ever. Don't know why there are so many negative posts. This ain't no Mudd Club or CBGB. I ain't got no time for that now.

As good as it is, it's not even their best live album (The Name of This Band is the Talking Heads).
