Bike ID help...please!

I sure could use some help in trying to figure out what the heck this frameset is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have image searched for fork crowns matching this one and builders starting with a "B" but that's as far as I've gone with investigation.

Might be Billato Bros., they had a couple "B"s they used over the years on their frames...is it "tuto Italiano"?

Any rifling in the steer tube? Dove stamps on the tubes? Italian thread bottom bracket shell?

wonder if the "bb" logo could stand for bill boston. he retired mid-eighties so it may be slightly too late for him. does it display a seat tube w/b mount?

I doubt Bill Boston would have provided Italian threaded BBs. I vote for Bilato.

I would be thrilled at the prospect of that but alas the stamps/logo's of similar era Billoti's differ from the bike in question. I agree on the Bill Boston point as well. His badge seems pretty straight forward...one B.

Billato not Billoti, Sure you're looking at the same thing?

one of the "double B" pantos that Billato used is this on an '83 frame, but note the forkcrown panto is a "triple B"...and different to the OP's in any case. Another oddity is that the color scheme (3-color fade) is VERY similar to some of the Billato-made Lemond frames, specifically the Z-Team replica models, BUT I've seen these Lemonds with both red and blue on top but always with the yellow in the middle, not on the bottom...so that's another not-useful clue.

I'm not convinced that this is the original paint scheme. In my paint stripping search for gipiemme rear dropouts I discovered that they were occluded by what appeared to be 3M green glazing/spot filler. Dropouts are chrome and I wonder if the stays are plated as well. More stripping needed. Can't for the life of me figure out how to load additional pics but the main tubes are white. Seems a generic livery for the era.
