Puch Bergmeister

Smokey, Yes Juleva is correct those are second generation Normandy high flange hubs, and the wheels if original( which I believe are) with the blank diamonds, and pre 1970 downtube decal puts it at 1969. I have to say it, an EXCEPTIONALLY well preserved specimen. I have a 1961 Campy equipped Bergmeister and a 1974 Steyr Clubman in my collection and absolutely love the feel of these Austrian bikes, a little heavier than say my Schwinn Superior, but lighter than my 63 Varsity. Pretty comparable to Schwinn Super Sport in ride, but IMHO better looking. As far as the Huret Downtube Shifters, I have a set from a 1967 Bergmeister, I will locate in the garage and maybe we can figure a way to make em yours cheap. Great bike Smokey!

Here's hoping that 1mactruck can also put up a photo of the Clubman. I'm a fan of these.

In the mean time, here's mine in a large size:

Since it's so often the cheaper ones that I am able to find in decent condition, here again is the 1968 Sears (with much of the same DNA) that I recently acquired and put into service:

Clubman and Bergmeister Pics

Thanks for the welcome folks, dddd and 3speedslow- yours probably puts mine to shame, man those are gorgeous! Hope you guys like custom bikes. The photos are from my iphone, so maybe not so good. I have not got the head badge or decals back on her yet, and she is upgraded with Shimano 600 arabesque, and many added braze ons. I went with a color (Lamborghini Orange w/ pearl overlay) that I envisioned for her. This bike was in bad shape when I got her, but I couldn't walk away, so I rolled up the sleeves again and--Well , it's just an old farts labor of love. Added a couple pics of the 61 Bergmeister, while building it back up. Wish I had better pics for you guys, and again thanks for the welcome, I've enjoyed the forum.

Looks like a thorough restoration, sans decals. The photos aren't doing it justice, but you can always update and bounce the thread with better pic's and any future mods.

You did no wrong in replacing the plastic Simplex parts!!!
