Trek 959
Just came in today, threw it together for a quick ride. Really cool bike, Columbus SL tubing, Campy dropouts and Cinelli B/B shell. Full Dura Ace except the cranks and Cinelli bars. Original paint and I wasn't aware that the blue panels were paint. Disappointed in the size, way bigger than the advertised 56cm and mismatched rims. Does ride nice though.

Nice looking bike! too bad it's larger than you thought! On a side note, are you sure the paint is original? My older treks (and I have an 82) all have wrap around decals with contrasting panels...not painted?? Are you sure the blue panel is painted? Also, is the Columbus sticker on the down tube? I'm pretty sure all Treks put them on the seat tube. Not sure what the sticker is on the downtube though.... cant really see it. Great bike, enjoy

That bike's terrible. What size is it, like a 58, 59? My God, what a hassle. I can help you out, just send it my way and I'll make sure it gets disposed of

Treks came in 1.5in increments, measured ctt. When first posted I noted it looked like a 22.5 vs 21 or 24. In a ctc measurement may be close to 56. I am sure you can resell it if necessary for good price, assume the rear is newer rim, sun? I had to replace the araya stock rim on my fuso this spring after cracking it, used a sun cr build back on the tricolor hub and it is bombproof though a bit heavy. I prefer rear wheels that can take my weight even if a bit heavier.
But back to the bike, you can resell that no problem many people on here would buy it I am sure.

Second in line! That's a nice bike, and I could pick it up this weekend.

John, you are correct, Shimano dropouts. I assumed they were Campy from the brochure and didn't even look. Thanks.

My Trek 95x also has the Shimano UF dropouts. John said that they were prone to breakage. But hopefully if they've lasted this long that we've got good ones.
Odd on the painted panels. Every other example I've seen shows the panels as decals. Like here: https://www.vintage-trek.com/Trek_galleryLB.htm

This is going to be for sale as soon as I can figure out a price. I can't find any others for a price comparison. I threw it on eBay with a high price. I really wanted to keep this one, just to big.

I'm pretty sure that's not the original bike shop sticker- the area code for Fond Du Lac would have been 414 back in the 80s. They split up the 414 area code into 920 and 262 in the mid 90s.

I no longer have it, I made a few trades to a buddy of mine who's a Trek nut. He was super excited to get it, after years of collecting he's never seen one in person.
