You know that younger brother to the Centurions . the other brand from WSI. Lets see how Diamond Backs were.

^^ No where near a nice or vintage as yours.
Haven't decided what to do with yet. Carbon main tubes bonded to alloy lugs., very light.

This one blurs the line between Centurion and Diamond Back, it's a 1990 Diamond Back Centurion Interval. Haven't put it together yet but I have all the parts, it's getting a 105 group with STI, the wheels have Ultegra hubs. The paint is much better than it looks in the pictures.

1986? Diamond Back Lakeside. I wanted to make it into a drop bar touring bike, but it is too small. It does work well as a hybrid to hop on for a quick trip. I had to replace the crappy Shimano plastic cantilevers, but the rest is pretty much original.

Nice!! My LBS owner, a great guy who has given tons back to our community (cycling and otherwise) has one of these, and I've been trying to trade for a Superb Tech RD for a long time to help him get it back on the road. If any of you Diamondback guys have one, I have lots to trade. Cool "housingless" cable routing to the RD on those, and I really dig the back/silver livery! Thanks for posting your Ridge Runner.

'92 Diamondback Master TG
Here's my '92 Master TG. Bought it as a frameset, and built it up with some parts I had on hand: Sport LX Shifters, Brake Levers, Crankset, Hubs, and Front Derailleur; Modolo Speedy Calipers and a 105 rear derailleur handling a 13-28 7 speed Uniglide cassette. The frame is tig-welded True Temper RC-2. It's a nice, stiff ride, but I'll probably let it go pretty soon for something with a bit more relaxed geometry, room for bigger tires and eyelets for fenders.

My first MTB was a 1987 Ascent It was red , although the Red wasn't in the 87 catalogues. It was a great bike til it got stolen.

---- Sorry --- Diamond Back died for me in 1991 ---- but interestingly enough, most of these bikes lived on for a bit with different DB badging.
Such a legendary BMX marque was reduced to selling primarilly mid to low end mountain bikes in pretty short order and they still haven't recovered --- neither has Mongoose, but GT is still plugging away (in the higher end market that is )

Nice Centurions. But although the Diamond Backs did take a fall in the 1990's they do offer some nice machines. Are they at the top of the game.. no. but alot of us can appreciate the brand that once was .

So if it's a BMX brand, show us the BMX bikes! I see them on CL and I really can't tell the Walmart models apart from the classics, I don't have the knowledge.

This is a Diamond Back FleetStreak bike that has Shimano derailleurs , shifters and brakes. The crank is Sugino , wheels are Araya , tires are new (26"). The drive-train is an 18 speed . Outside of some scuff marks in the paint the bike is in good condition . The bike should be a good fit for someone 5-3 to 5-8.

Another transition-year Centurion DiamondBack. Expert TG. Sold this one (sans wheel set) to a fellow forumite, but I haven't seen him post his build on yet.

On a whim, I bought a '92 (I think) DB Expert TG from a bike shop for $239; he was ridding himself of used bikes.
I have no idea what the tubing was, just said ChroMo on it, and 23" for the size. Nice lugged frame in champagne.
What I quickly realized was that it had a 3x7 Shimano RSX group on it, with STI shifters, a compact 48/38/26 setup.
The hubs were either Exage or non-Shimano, but that bike would have served me well on some hilly group rides.
I moved the group to my brother-in-law's Lemans RS, and when the shifters finally gave up, I sent them for rebuild.
The frame ended up as a bike messenger's ride in Quebec, and it lasted an entire year, which is unusual up there.
