Sell my Miyata 912 or is that sacrilege?
I recently picked up an '82 Trek 750 (roadbike not Antelope) and was contemplating swapping the Shimano 600 group from my Miyata 912 onto the Trek frame. But then I started reading the recent Miyata 1000 brought back to life thread and now I'm a little panicky. I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment so storage is at a premium. Now I'm thinking about stripping the bike but storing the frame for future use. It's not really a great time to sell a bike frame right now anyway. One contributing factor is my Serotta with Columbus SLX tubing. This bike has a similar tubing set and rides somewhat the same except the Miyata has a slightly slacker geometry and is more stable. What should I do? What would Sheldon do?

Sheldon would have a lot more storage space.

Sheldon would jury rig a bike rack for the ceiling and duck.
I don't think he would kick a SO out in favor of more space... but the thought might cross his mind.
Which bike do you enjoy riding most? If the Miyata, than stick with it and sell the Serotta. Sounds kinda like sacrilege too, but you asked. Selling any good bike is sacrilege IMHO. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Meah, more than a dozen bikes...a sample below. They become boat anchors, I wish I had thinned the herd years ago. I'v even given a few away for nickels and dimes. Sell it or play it forward !

They made quite a few 912s, so if you let it go, you should be able to find one later if you regret it.
Myself, I do not regret a single keeper that I have let go, and I let go four of them this year alone.
On storage, frames take up A LOT LESS space than complete bikes. Its one reason I tend to tear down projects in my queue.

I have a 63cm '87 912 which the bike in OJ's picture and absolutely love it. rear gearing is now an 8 speed with a 600 tricolor RD, so its a 16 speed now. Love the ride, love the look, etc etc. But its not perfectly fitting as the frame is too small, so I sometimes pass up riding it in favor of something else. The seatpost is pretty high as is and the stem is up as much as it can go- ive thought about swapping the quill stem for a riser, but love the look of it as is and don't want to mess that up. As a result, ive thought about selling it to someone a bit smaller that will fit it perfectly...but I am too greedy and cant part with the bike!

You should just send your Miyata my way. I'll hold onto it for you until you are ready to have it back.
