Yeah, when I was 12 they were like the Holy Grail or a unicorn. There couldn't have been more than one of these sold for every hundred or more Mirage's and Nomads. I suspect time has distorted the proportions between the elite stuff and the everyday, since people kept the fancy bikes and tossed the cheap ones.

One of the neighbor kids had an uncle that had a Le Champion, but I only ever saw a picture. It was orange. I think it lived in San Jose.

Unless it had been repainted, it wasn't a Le Champion if it was orange. Probably a Team Champion.

Well I gave this one the old college try. The more I looked at this, and after seeing @rootboy pictures of his beautiful ride, the more I wanted to see it in my garage. The fact that I just build a gorgeous set of Rigida clinchers with Campy NR hubs to replace those Arayas further prompted me to go for it.

So a-sniping I went and drove the bid up to $500 at the close but I just couldn't justify going any higher with the $100 shipping on top of this. Near as I can tell, the bike is sold and that's the last we'll see of it. On to the next one...

There was one on CL in WI a couple months ago. If I recall there was a little bubbling on the top tube, otherwise a very nice looking bike. Asking was $500. That was a great price.

That weird. It had several bids, and a winner. Maybe he didn't pay.

Yes. And this one should be an example to all who contemplate selling a nice bike.
On how NOT to take and present your pictures.

Almost as if they hope it doesn't sell.
"Well, the wife said I had to sell it, but if no one bids..."
