Is baby blue h-bar tape OK on an Eddy?

1985 with a repaint years ago by CyclArt, over a team themed white/blue combo.

This on a 60cm frame with a rider that nevers wears pink, so no aesthetic clash.
Thanks in advance for the fashion advice.

I like it, and I might even wear pink while riding it.

I like it. What I would likely use if it were mine. Would prefer to see side angle.

Test ride first, then some photos.

the color don't matter if the thing don't ride

this is one of those "hey, does my new porsche clash with these awesome snakeskin boots?" threads.

anyway ... i do love how you've finished that wrap job -- very neat and sleek with the narrow tape.

let us know how it rides already!

Looks perfect to me. Baby blue was a very common color choice for cotton tape when I started riding. White was probably the most cool, especially if it was dirty.

Anything is OK if you like it! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder! It's your bike, enjoy the ride.

NOW, if someone "drews" a bike or otherwise permanently damages the frame, does something stupid and unsafe etc. I may take exception.

I personally enjoy seeing zoomy riders pulling off to the side of the road and "having a chunder" (driving the bus) at the sight of my pink and yellow Ironman or one of my Day-Glo lemon-lime bikes!

BTW, the light blue tape looks good...

oh shucks -- no fair, Beaver. -- you know there are several backstories to this bike. And YES, you did finish off those beautiful bars with a tight wrap and tidy tape job. The tidbits & tips I observed were valuable.

The ride, while short (rain), was long enough to adjust bars, saddle and stem. It was very SLXey, no chainstay bridge makes it 'float' (just my guess).

Throw on some blue cable housing and you are golden.

Admittedly this b-tape isn't baby blue. It's more bleu for a French bike.

Here's a few. Pre-ride before adjusting saddle and bars. Temporary pedals.

edit: this bike put together by @eschlwc - the polishing, assembly and finishing touches. Thanks Bill - most excellent.

Drillium compliments of VeloOrange.
Not fully period correct, so in a way, it's still a WIP. Mongrel in it's present rendering really.

Ooh, that's lovely.

Where does one obtain those yellow Campy end plugs (at a reasonable price)? They'd look nice on my Grandis build in progress.

Came with a DeRosa I once owned and kept when passed on. With apologies to @Lascauxcaveman.

So here is what it looked like prior to repaint - approximately 7 or 8 years ago.

This frame was initially owned by an amateur racer in southern California, sold to a grad student in '87 who owned it until the frame/fork/BB/headset came to me. The repaint left off the 'Corsa Extra' decal on the top tube near the head tube. (Anybody got one?)

The other backstory is that this is my 2nd EM Corsa Extra. Here is a pic of the first one, both 1985.

So when this one became available, it is easy to imagine why I was especially interested in acquiring it. The new frame is 1cm smaller and even a slightly better fit for me. Wahoo.... and just in time to ride for xmas.
