That is great -- a real expedition bike, with half-step-plus-granny gearing and barcons.

The bags are actually full of recycling and garbage from our co-op. :-) I get to take an expedition to the dump!

Well, I found this recent thread as I was looking up info on my very similar bike... Thanks for all the info.

Mine is a Peugeot P41P Deauville and was the Feb '92 version (according to the above mentioned dating method) with a Sachs Pentasport P5 Internal Geared Hub (the older, 2 cable and chain type). If it helps to age yours, mine is exactly the same colour. It has one coaster brake (back pedal) and a front calliper.

Part Number: P41P N CDE57MG which, by comparing to the previous example, I think is Peugeot, 41=Tourer Series, Pentasport, N?, Coaster Brake?, DEutschland (I know it's from Germany), 57cm, MaGenta
Serial Number: Y202 0 1593 Which makes it Feb '92 Feb apparently

Total cost £0 since the IGH is stuck in the middle and needs taken apart so it was gifted on Freecycle. I'm a wood man, not metal, but I reckon I'll have a go... I've trawled the web for advice and it says have a go... I really want to get back on a bike for next to nowt as I'm skint and my last bike died a few years ago.

Condition is pretty good, but in the sit up and beg position, I don't like the colour at all and am tempted to have it sprayed. Do I lose friends already? Is this sacrilege?
