Tanneneberg 1940y

Hi . I'm buy for 300UHR($ 15) that bicycle. He named Tannenberg , translate from deutche- Fir Mount.
That small manufacture placed in Austria in village Tannenberg. Bicycle manufacture ceased to exist about 1944y. When i buy bike him fork was broken. I change him fork on the fork from ХВЗ and bent fork legs as the old. Beautiful captured bicycle. Interecsting him the fate of which we will never know(((
Riding this bike, I really feel like in those years.

Another great ride. Love the headbadge.

True, it would be great to know the history of our bikes but sadly, sometimes it will never happen. That bike must have seen quite a bit through the war and beyond.

Is it hard to steer? I have never see a head tube angle like that.

Yes, Capo is far more popular in central and eastern Europe than in North America. Harald Cap, son of company founder Otto Cap (hence, Cap O), is about my age. At 85 years, the Capo marque is one of the oldest in the business, and unlike Schwinn, Raleigh, Bianchi, and Peugeot, it is still family-owned and operated.

The stability / steering question is a very interesting one. I would like to see a full-on side view of your bicycle, to compare the fork rake and head tube angle against those of something like an old English roadster. I am guessing the front-side camera angle accentuates the fork rake somewhat, although that is still one long rake.

In the 1960s there were various experiments on how to make a bicycle unrideable, and the closest someone came was with a chopper motorcycle fork, with an extremely long forward reach. Ironically, that's what all the kids in the 1970s seemed to want on their Stingray type bikes.
