For me, really a question of distance. Since most of my riding is now rando-type distance, no way I want to ride anything skinnier than a 28 mm over that distance -- it just beats me up too much to ride a narrower tire. Even on shorter rides, I now hesitate to ride anything narrower than 25 mm. All a matter of comfort, as my speed days are well behind me.
