Just have to show this off... Don't get too excited!

I just have to show this off. A '74 Schwinn Le Tour I found on Craig's List. I had an old Japanese 10 speed similar to this when I was a kid. It's super clean and seem to fit me perfectly. I'm kinda of a "sucker" for everything new that comes out, but I'm really diggin' this "Old School" ride. Is anyone else riding one of these?

I was a junior in high school when my girlfriend rolled a new baby blue Le Tour out for a ride with me. She did pretty good with it.

That looks super clean and original, like it was right off the catalog page!

I bought a brand new Cool Lemon 23" LeTour in 1974 when I was 17, I still have it. It was lighter than anything Schwinn had coming out of Chicago other than the Paramount. 3 1/2 years ago when I got back into cycling, I bought my wife a 21" Opaque Blue 1974 LeTour that was still very original.

Really nice find there!

I had a bright red (Cardinal?) Le Tour II in high school (late '70s) and loved that bike. It was stolen from outside an office at my church while I watched through the window. I couldn't get to him fast enough and we chased the guy, but he lost us and I never saw it again. I would love to find another.

Nice! Yellow is one of my favorite bicycle colors.

My first road bike was a Schwinn Varsity. I got it in 1964 when it was one year used. I still love the old bikes (I ride both old and newer).

Fellow in our neighborhood rides one, I'd see him ever so often; it was orange or yellow but I got a bit envious of his ride; it looked so good like the ones above and he seems to enjoy it. I've been meaning to look for one myself.

That's a beautiful bike, enjoy it!
Now that you've got the old bike bug we'll see how long you just have the one. I started with a garage sell Centurion in 2006, and now have at least a dozen classic bikes. The problem is they are relatively cheap to purchase and I'm always finding new ones, even when I'm not looking.

They do ride smooth, and in their day, we knew little better. They're fun to work on because nothing wears out except tires, tubes, and cables.
