I'm calling it Spring.
Never mind what the calendar says, around 100-200 birds swarmed the neighborhood earlier, many stopping in my yard, and demanding that I get the ice & old leaves the heck out of their bird bath. They were mostly crows, sparrows, & such, but a pair of bluejays were the ringleaders. When a female bluejay insists on bathing in ice water, in your bird bath, she WILL make sure you know that you need to fix it. And Mr. Groundhog showed up too, the first time this year. On topic, I was trying to get my bottom bracket rebuilt & regreased, when I was so rudely interrupted.

Rode with knee warmers yesterday and it was the first time in many weeks since any of my skin, other than face and neck, have been exposed to the sun. Temps in the 70's tomorrow!

Yes the weather looks good in the next couple of days. I plan on finding out how bad my legs are! Went for a short ride of under 4 miles the other day and it was fine. Need to do much longer rides more regularly, its about time.

I rode in to work today -- sweatshirt, shorts, no gloves for the first time. Spring indeed!

Wet time here in the pacificnorthwet.
But it has been a mild winter with a good many riding days the last 4 months.
No complaints.

I'm embarrassed about the amount of miles I've ridden this year so far. I've got a ton of excuses, none of them are good except "I've got sand in my hoo-hoo."
I'm dropping off my poor dented bike at the store today. Maybe getting some new bars and who knows what happens from there.

Here at the coast, buds are on the trees, grass is greening and the azaleas are just bringing flowers out. Sunny skies for most of the time and miles are increasing on the bike. Shorts, t-shirts mostly with a jacket when the wind blows hard.

Party-pooper! We just had about an inch of snow on Saturday, that melted off pretty good that same day. So I guess I'm trying to move things along, lol. It's funny, how the temps jumped about 30F in just a couple days. Hang in there, your Spring must be coming too.

Ice & frost on the cars this morning, requiring scraping windows, although it did (briefly) get up to 65° at around 1pm, then the clouds rolled in. and our DOT spread that infernal brine pre-treat on the roads last night, so NO, I'm not riding on the roads yet!!! It is gonna be warm and raining here (with heavy rain advisories) for the rest of the week. Again, NO for riding until the rains are gone, along with the road salt!

I have been riding every day in the rain. its friggin wet! but not too cold.... its really the wind. blew down a few trees the other night, but hasn't been that bad during the day so far. still, a real battle in some sections against it.

Right on! Had the Cannondale out on the fog line today. Still some wetness on the road but who cares. Temps at 54deg, the biking shorts felt good after snowriding all winter.

I must have gotten the same storm: It snowed for three hours this afternoon, and then quit. I was out in it, on my mtb, and the wind lashed those wet little flakes into my face. "Is that all you got?! Is that all you got?!" I cried, in dismay.

So far, it's been consistently 10 degrees colder than the weather folks say.
I still go out. Today, I decided to run 4 miles first. Froze my arse but only walked about a mile of it.
I took a short break for a cup of coffee and decided to ride an hour. Colder than anticipated.
We're stuck in that "if you dress for it, you'll sweat" temperature range.
Not complaining. Beats the alternative.

I tried riding long the other day only to discover 15 MPH headwinds which miraculously changed into 15 MPH crosswinds on my way back..
So I gave up and turned around half way through.

Low of 29 and high of 67 in Harrisburg on March 7th. Those kinds of swings only happen in early spring and early fall it seems. Even warmer today -forecast high of 72.
