PSA- Giro Republic shoes- big discount on REI

I just saw these Giro Republic shoes on sale on REI and bought a pair. Nice classic style and they end up being $51.80 plus tax and with free shipping after 30% discount given at checkout.

https://www.rei.com/product/867397/g...ike-shoes-mens

Get 'em while they last, and if they fit!

Great price. I paid a lot more than that, second hand (but not used).
I like mine just fine. SPD's, not so much.

If they had a 3-bolt sole with modified outriggers, they'd be perfect.

The ad is funny, implies that women have no foot odor.

Giro needs to make an American "Sasquatch" wide size. Only way I could fit their shoes is if I chopped off two toes on each foot or use the boxes they came in instead of the shoes.

Thanks for that; just picked up some 43s.

There are quite a few good deals in that sale considering the additional 30% off.

Some people born to ski barefoot. I can relate.

I've been wearing these for about a year now, zero complaints-- and I wear a US14, which fits fine in the 48.

Yeah, I don't think these are undersized at all. I have a pair in 43 and they fit just fine while most of my other bike shoes are 44. Street shoe size 9.5-10, my foot is not wide but does prefer extra width at the toe box.

I like these shoes in certain colors but the black/grey (which is pretty much all they have left) looks like they'd come with their own AARP membership.

I have the older model year black/tan with white soles, which everyone in my family calls "bowling shoes." Haters gon' hate.

Watch it buddy. Some of us are age eligible, but may not be card carrying members!

I agree that the photos of the black/grey do look make them look a bit... orthopedic. I'm hoping they look better with a bit of a age and with the right socks/clothes. My favorite color scheme is this:

So maybe even just changing out the laces might help. Still, for the money, it's hard to complain if they fit well, which I expect they will for me since I have narrow feet. There's not a lot of options for modern, vintage looking, lace up shoes. Certainly not in the $50 price range.

I had my card long before the shoes.... I get the card in the mail and it's great at taking stickers off.
As for the old-school coloring, that's when you use the phat grey laces.......

As of this year, I am now eligible as well. I think I'm still in denial though.

There's quite a bit of lacing on those shoes do they tighten up nicely and evenly with jut a pull at the ends of the laces, or are they a bit fiddly to put on??

I never even laced mine up-- a pair of Yankz came home at the same time as the shoes, been using them exclusively. HIGHLY recommend.

Man, thanks for posting this up! I have a pair of the grey ones that I love (but have been aesthetically DESTROYED by the rainy weather lately) I was going to buy some black ones, so this is perfect timing.
