Last pic is the crap hanging up in the garage after my part out activity as i am actually trying to pare this mess down so i can make sense of it

A very large percentage of this mess is fully operational, - just needing a spritz of air to get out and enjoy the sun again

My "collection" is stagnant and I am sure all of you have seen these before but the question was asked and who am I to say no. Oh that is another thread!

1973ish Bottecchi Giro D'Italia being converted (mostly) to a Professional - current active project so not a complete bike yet. BTW: all comments regarding the HB tape have already been noted!

So many lovely bikes! Interested in the Sun Manxman. Just bought one off eBay needing a total restore (currently covered in thick red paint and missing all decals too). Am getting some help to identify the year, and am looking at your components and colour scheme with some interest!

What a great way to share our collections with each other. There are a lot of nice bikes here! Its interesting to see each persons collection because you start to see what grabs their attention. I really liked seeing the early carbon tubed lugged frames and some of the newer unusual stuff like the Origin8 or the Velo Orange.

Here is my current collection oldest to youngest.

1972 Nishiki International mostly SunTour with terribly incorrect French Stronglight crankset

1981 Trek 750 Pro with Shimano 6400 TriColor 8 spd STI group Mavic Open4CD wheels Reynolds 531C

1986 Gazelle Champion Mondial 753 Frame with Shimano 5700 105 Mavic Aksium Race wheels Reynolds 753R

1989 Performance Bike Shops Serotta Speciale Shimano Dura Ace 7700 Mavic Ksyrum Columbus SLX

Late 80's(?) Dave Kane Lightweight Campagnolo Centaur Alloy 10 speed group (to be built next)

1995 Schwinn S[nine 5].4 parts bin bike (mostly Deore XT from my old Ritchey Sugar3)

highly modified 2004 Motobecane Jubilee DLX drop bar XC mtn bike Shimano Sora 3500

2014 Specialized AWOL Shimano Sora 9 speed triple

Love this pic. It's like all your bikes came out and had a family photo while you were gone.

As it was a sunny day, they all wanted to 'show their colors', so to speak.
edit: A rare 'full sun' day!

I love the variety in your bikes but the angle of the ramps in the last few make my wrists hurt.

These are great. One thing I notice is that the majority of them are set with bars close to saddle height, and a number seem to use taller than standard stems to accomplish this. Do you have a stockpile of tall vintage stems or something? Or do you order Technomics by the case?

And what stem (with such rise!) are you using for that troublesome 22.0 size 1970 Peugeot PX-10?

Thanks!

Thank you! I have a chronic pinched nerve in my neck, the result of cracking a vertebra in a bike accident many years ago. I'm most comfortable with bars at least level with the saddle, sometimes even higher if my neck is feeling particularly achy. Most of those tall stems are Nitto Technomics, but you can find SR stems and some older steel stems with lots of height. As far as that French stem on the PX-10, it's just some no-name stem I found on eBay. That was a lucky find.
