Dump it or rebuild it?

I found a Tyler step through 3 speed with pretty good tires, some rust on the rims, fenders and frame, and rusty brake levers, etc. The problem is, the push rod for the internal 3 speed hub is missing. It's a Shimano, model CX. There's a "G" on the hub as well. I have some brake levers and lots of elbow grease I could throw at the bike. The question is, is it worth trying to find parts and get this honey operational again, or is it destined for the junk heap. Any suggestions out there?

Always a tough decision when you like bikes. This POS 80's Universal is too crappy to use as guest bike. Everything works, after a fashion, but it spent last year as a garden ornament. I bought it for $20 took the two new 26" Gumwall tires off it and may try to sell it for $20. It has a working Shimano 3speed.

These are cheap replacement parts and often free at bike coops.
