The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men - Tommasini Content
Picked up a very nice Tommasini Tecno Extra for a very nice price this morning. It's too small for me and had thoughts of reselling the frame and thus getting the Campy 9 speed group for free. Very fleeting idea that it is the right size for my wife. Anyway I got home with the wife waiting for me ( I'd snuck to the next town an hour away to get this) and she asked "Were you out shopping for me?" - our 20th anniversary is tomorrow. Me - " Ummm yes I got you a bike! It's totally OK if you don't like it though."
Win win I guess. I get a nice gruppo or wife gets some nice steel. She rides a Specialized carbon right now.
Here are the quick pics - Columbus Genius - seat cluster is lugged, rest is tig welded. Other than a grimy drive train and a spot of bird poop on a seat stay, the bike is pristine.
Also the seat post has the Dura Ace graphic but also an Easton label. Is this common?

If your wife is half as pretty as that Tommie, you're a twice-blessed man

You mean she isn't insisting on keeping the group on the bike? You are lucky!

Looks like SP-7410 (and possibly other models) were made using Easton tubing. Whether it's Easton-manufactured or made by Shimano or someone else, not sure. Looks pretty common on the web.

Good fast thinking there, but as said she may well want the group set left on the frame. 20 years, congratulations on reaching the china anniversary, we are hitting 40 years here in a few weeks, I am very blessed to have her, not a strawberry blonde, black hair prior to the gray setting in, dark/olive complexion (Hispanic) and more beautiful than the day we were married, in 1976.

Congrats! On the 20 years, on getting her onboard with a great bike (hopefully) and for getting such a great bike!
