Ross Signature 290S

This forum is a horrible influence. I just picked this up. Solely because I thought it might make a nice commuter with built in anti-theft. Hopefully the wife is ok with the bicycle corner of the garage going from four bikes to six plus a frame in the span of two weeks.

Oh, by the by, given that there is little info on these bikes, and most of it resides here, I haven't yet found a dating method for it. Did anyone ever find that and if so, can you link me? I'll keep looking but the PO said it was a '73 which is not possible. I'm thinking 83? Anyway, it is nice.

You can often determine the bike's age by the date codes on the components

Velobase has a catalogue scan from 1985 that looks about right. I have the same bike and dated it as an '83.
It's a surprisingly nice ride.
