It's cleaning up nicely!

This is a pretty useful string test that Dave Moulton set up:

Very nice. You are doing the cycling world a great service by bringing such a classic back to life. I love that color and chrome combination. If there is already a line of interested buyers if you ever decide to move it on, add me to it.

I put a front brake cable on and took it for a little longer ride. Very beautiful rider, nice and smooth. Can't get the derailleur up on the outer ring yet.

This blue was the '72 Munich Olympic team blue that Schwinn selected for the bikes they provided to the USA team.
Not sure if all got that color, but many.

Waiting in the correct r/d, b/b spindle and cloth bar tape. But, I couldn't resist throwing some used tape and a generic spindle on it to go for a ride today. What a beautiful riding bike, very smooth.

Very nice, as I stated in the original for sale thread, I never thought $600 was out of line as a starting point on that bike. You got a great deal, though I recognize you have put a lot of time into bringing it back up to snuff. Lovely bike. I have frame sitting in the garage with a slight bulge on the lower DT and some visible paint cracking around the lug points. Fork was totaled, but I aligned the frame and squeezed to to 120mm in the back and it's going to be a beater fixie with a crappy alloy fork I have kicking around. I have ridden multiple frames with minor collision damage and wouldn't hesitate to ride that beauty you have there.

I paid a lot less than his $600 asking price, even though I didn't think it was crazy high.If it wasn't for a slight ripple on the bottom of the upper d/t you'd never know it was damaged.

I think you got a great deal. The seller didn't do himself any favors with how he represented and presented the bike. He said that he thought the bike was unsafe based on what a local bike shop said and made no efforts to clean it up. For what you paid, you could ship it to Waterford, have the d/t replaced, re-painted and come out in good shape. But as well as it cleaned up and rides, why bother.
