Last steel Bianchi Reparto Corsi frame?
I ride a Bianchi steel frame, Reparto Corsi, ELOS. S/N 55F227C, as close as I can make out. When I bought it, c. 2000, the bike shop owner had it on the wall as kind of a showpiece. Small shop specializing in Italian bikes. (He also built it up for me.) He said it was the last model Bianchi Reparto Corsi steel frame. I think he said it was a 1996, but since there's no 6 in the serial number, maybe a '97?
Anybody out there who can verify the "last steel frame" bit? (Is BianchiGirl still out there?) I've been telling people that for the last 16 years, and hope I'm not lying!
Here's a photo. Paint prettier in person; a pearl and not silver. Original forks smooshed; carbon a reluctant replacement. I now keep beautiful chromed forks as an artpiece on MY wall.

According to my catalogues it looks like EL/OS quietly passed in '97 but TSX/UL seems to have lived on until '98. A few of the '98 RC level (I think the Reparto Course was pretty defunked by then) bikes are built with Dedacciai Zero but I. Ant really discern if it us steel or aluminum. They look steel but lugless.
He seems to half right, '97 seems to be the last year for that frame anyway. Personally I think steel, especially the Nivachrome from Columbus had a lot to offer but with the industry touting aluminum and carbon as superior Bianchi simply had to go where the money was.
