Any bikes with WHITE stems?
I picture the color matching (given the bike has some white to it), but would/does it look nice?

ATB manufacturers went through a period they painted the forks in a contrasting colour and often colour matched the stem to the fork. Personally, I though it looked OK, but was never particularly attracted to such schemes.
A white stem might look OK on a road bicycle if the head tube or head and down tubes were white, like on the Centurion Ironman. However, if I was going to use a white stem on a road bicycle, it would be on a bicycle outfitted with Shimano Sante or SunTour Ole, as it would be a good fit with the white components. |
don't have any examples offhand, but I've seen white Modolo brake sets and matching 3TTT stems.

I have one of these Raleigh Technium mountain bikes with a white stem. Here's a pic of one I found although I certainly don't have my stem setup like this one.

I had a 1988 Schwinn Premis that had a white drive train of Sun Tour components. Roger

I have a white stem for one of my modern bikes. I installed it and took it off again, didn't like the way it looked. Shiny is better.

The Trek Domane 5.2 in white (which I recently bought) has a white stem, matching white frame and fork. Looks great, but requires frequent cleaning.

The 1987 and or 88 Cannondale line up was very effective with painted stems and other parts. The Black lightning & White lightning come to mind. I believe Cannondale models had contrasting color stems.
Klein was probably the very best at such things with their Mission control paint matched stems. |
My 1989 Cannondale had a white stem. I stripped it. Looks better polished.

Not vintage, but Speedvagen paints most (all?) of their stems the color of the bike:
