Derailer hanger helicoil?
I was straightening a bended derailer hanger on a steel frame earlier and noticed that the thread was damaged - not catastrophically, but still. Made me wonder if there's a relatively easy solution for this kind of thing in the form of a helicoil, or any other alternative to having someone braze new material in the hanger.

If the threads are not too bad, you may be able to thread a RD mounting bolt through the back to chase the threads. However, you may find (as I recently did when in the same situation) that the threads were damaged too much to be saved. Maybe it would have held in my case, but I didn't want to run the risk of sending a RD into the spokes and loosing the hanger altogether. Thus, on the suggestion of JohnDThompson, I bought this and it's working fine:
Wheels MFG Drop Out Saver
Note they come in thick and narrow versions, so make sure you get the right one for your dropout.
(Slash beat me to it while I was typing. Agree that you should try a tap or chasing from the back first.)

Helicoil (the brand) does not make a product in that size/thread pitch (10mm by either 1mm or 26tpi, depending on if Campy or ISO) however there are similar "framesaver" dropout hanger repair inserts (typically solid, not a "coil", but will do the same) that are available from such sellers as biketoolsetc.com and maybe Nova or even your LBS can get thru QBP (maybe).
^AH! Faster typists have already pointed you to the Wheels Mfg. solution, that's as good if not better than any other brand.^
