A threaded headset that will work?
Bought a De Bernardi frameset.
I also bought a 2nd Gen Campagnolo C Record headset and there is only about 1mm of thread left after I screw on the upper cup. After I put on the keyed washer, then there is no thread left at all. So, I have no threads to catch the locknut.
I’m *assuming* that the fork I received is the original fork for the frame.
I’m *guessing* that a different headset worked with this at some point in time.
Any ideas which headset might work with this?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
This link shows a pic of the headset on the frame and the few threads that are exposed. Not sure why it didn't show as an image on the post: ---> https://imgur.com/a/CmcVS

Campy headsets of that era typically had stack heights of about 39-42mm or so. ( search the specific spec. for your model).
So you want a headset that stacks 5-7mm lower to give you the required exposure for the locknut. Here's a chart showing a variety of headsets that will fill the bill. Keep in mind that you have to buy the right thread and 26.4/27.2 press fit dimensions.

I wonder if someone cut the fork tube on that at some point to flush fit a shimano headset or something---
I have 2 DeBErnardi's in the stable and they seem to work with the taller stack Campy headsets
post pics as you go along -- DeBernardi's are one of many "unsung heroes" of the bicycle world to me

It isn't too difficult or expensive to have your steerer lengthened. A few years agoI bought 2 Tange steerers and a member here cut the old steerers abpnd added the new sections. I think all together I paid less $50ish for everything even postage.
@DMC707 Depending on just which HS the OP has it is almost 5+/-mm bigger than yours.
