Kabuki 10 speed

I just got this Kabuki today from a local on-line auction near me. Total cost including buyer's fee and tax came to $12.94. I think I did okay.

That's a great price for a bike. Happy riding.

For that much money you did fine. It is a heavy entry level bike from the late 70s, early 80s made by Bridgestone. I usually see those selling for $50 - $100. It is totally functional but not too desirable. The head badges on Kabukis are the best! Ride the wheels off of it!

The subject bicycle appears to be a Kabuki La Veloz, circa 1977-1981. It was an entry level model, 2nd from the bottom of the line. As noted, these were quite heavy, around 31 lbs. but at the that price it's hard to go wrong. I'd appreciate the serial number for my database, which allow me to identify the year of manufacture. TIA.

I did a Kabuki once... bought it for $75, installed clamp on down tube shifters and some other nice bits and flipped it for $275 in Central Florida. Here are the before/after shots:

Yes -- well-chosen upgrades, indeed. The only thing I would have done differently would be to install road quill pedals and toeclips.

The oval sticker by crank said 'Made By Nissan Cycle' 80 (long space) 1. On the crossbar it read Kabuki La Veloz-12.

Thxs, but I'd appreciate the actual serial number stamped on the frame.

Could not find stamped number. Will try again later with use of bifocals.

Alright. After removing some greasy crud and then using a jewelers loop to read the very, very faint serial number, here it is :AZ62215N
