Yes, this is a very nice bike. Most of the professionals I've seen recently have been beat to hell. I suppose it means they were used but doesn't make for quite as nice wall art.

That's going to be a nice one.

BTW, both jockey wheels appear to be cracked.

I have a frame and fork that fits squarely in that category, wasn't cheap and won't be easy. What was I thinking?

Beautiful, though replace those jockey wheels. Cracked ones can fail suddenly, leaving you stranded. The only thing I'd change would be the tires...blackwalls just don't go with the otherwise stock look.

I agree. if you see the original post I mentioned that I am building the original NR hubs with some new silver mavic open pro rims, DT spokes..Also some skinwall tires. Should look good.

The folks selling pulleys on Ebay are high on crack. What do you think would be a good replacement pulley aftermarket?

Bullseye pulleys are expensive, but they are durable and period appropriate.

You're going to love your Pro when it's done; I sure love mine!

very impressive! I've always loved the blue mink & silver paint scheme, especially with all of the contrasting panels on the seat tube.

Which version of the Pro is this? I can only assume that it is after the "classic" Mark IV (with the fastback stays). The seatstay caps look like they might be oversize, similar to what was used on the Team Pro's built in Ilkeston.

Looking forward to getting updates on the project, and hope to see it in person someday at a Chicago area ride! I'll bring one of my Raleighs too.

I guess I wasnt clear that I was looking for a less expensive alternative to $50 campy pulleys

Im not sure what "version" this is. I do know its probably a 78. The earlier models had the fast back seat stays. Honestly that is the preferred bicycle but they are hard to find in 9 or 10 condition like this one.

Fantastic looking bicycle, I have a love for the Professional Raleighs. Yours is looking beautiful, as said above, cannot wait to see the finished product. I noticed several sets of Campagnolo pulleys on ebay this afternoon, some were below the $50.00 line, and not the two sets with cracks in both pulleys either. Might be worth a look if you have the time. Best of luck on the finishing touches.

What you have is a Carlton built MKV Professional, the serial # will give date of the frame's manufacturer.
Lovely handling machines with a stage race geometry, yours is a Beaut.

I use the cheap Shimano 10-tooth pulleys. https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-Rear-.../dp/B0017SGUDU . $6.48 and free shipping!

I have a pair of used Brev. Campagnolo pulleys from a NR rear derailleur without any cracks. I would part with them for $10/shipped if interested.
