Favorite special edition Brooks

Pursuant to the new Vans-Brooks release, which I rather like, what is your favorite ever limited edition Brooks saddle?

I sort of did a hello kitty build for my wife...

I know she'd say the pink isn't a match, and she doesn't like leather saddles because she leaves bikes out in various conditions.

The special edition L'Hombre NJ imperial version, the one with the map of Long Island embossed on it, just in case you're really lost. The part of the map you need is, inevitably, in the cutout. Sadly, not a big seller.

My favorite.

The Champion Sprinter, a variation on the B17 theme, was first manufactured in 1925 and went into production (in restricted numbers) again a few years ago. The Sprinter is a little narrower at the back than other B17's and was originally saddle of choice for track riders up until the 1960's.

Are you certain the Purple Berlin is not the Blue Professional Berlin?

FWIIW, I voted for the First Vans Professional.

It currently rides on my '83 Paramount.

2015 Eroica cause it was a steal at $90 something dollars, also have a purple Colt like the one above cause it was $60 and was going to dye it, but now going to leave it and see how it looks on the Merz in my avatar and maybe the purple Holdsworth too. AND I like the Van's since I am one, but not stepping up for one yet.

I'm not a fan of the "fancy" Brooks saddles. I prefer the straight-forward models. I looked long and hard at the Eroica that Nashbar had deeply discounted but passed. I just can't get past the tooling on the saddle. The crazy colors don't do much for me either. Maroon is about as wild as I get...but I do have the matching maroon leather tape on that bike's handle bars though. Sweet!

I have five Brooks saddles. One Maroon Team Pro, and Olive Team Pro, a black B17, a Honey B17 and a black C17 Cambium. All are fairly new. The maroon Team Pro has the most miles and fits like a glove. That C17 is pretty comfy right out of the box.

I still lament the day that my fully broken in black Team Pro that I bought 40 years ago went missing a few years back.

I have an Alpe d'Huez and I love it. It was pricey enough that it had to come to me as a gift, far too fancy a thing to buy for myself.

The Vans one is the only other one that's tempted me, but somehow the skull seems out of place. But that's also what makes it so badass...

The alpe D'huez one is my favorite of the ones I own. I had one of the old vans and sold it when they started going for stupid money. Like you said, the skull was sort of...off putting.

I really like the world traveler one actually, at least partially because I like b-17s best for most bikes.
@The Purple vs. blue Berlin...I'm color blind, sorry.

I have color deficit myself. Over the years the blue has darkened and now the only way I can see a difference between it and a black Professional is by the "Berlin" stamped in the top! My wife tells me, however it still looks blue.

Now this blue limited edition Brooks I can still tell is blue.

It did not stay on my '71 Paramount. The color was not right.

If you'd asked me whether a Levi's blue Brooks cad would work on a classic paramount, I'd have given you the name of a dual major psychiatrist/interior decorator.

You've proven me wrong...looks bad arse with the red.

Me too. I pulled out the stops and picked out the one I wanted most for my new bike, which turned out to be the regular Team Pro, with titanium rails (since that was the only Pro with loops).

I looked at many colored and stamped options, and they just did not do anything for me. Neat to look at once, but I don't think I would want it on there every day, unless it had a special meaning for me (like if I had completed PBP in a certain year, and the saddle had PBP 20XX on it for the year I rode).

Contrasting colors are a good thing. But as a pastor I never aspire to look bad arse! Hahaha!

I'm actually thinking that there is too much black on the '83 Paramount and was possibly going to try blue accents on it over the winter, of course using the blue denim Brooks.

Does a no longer made model Brooks saddle qualify as a limited edition? The '71 Paramount wears a B5N.
