Any experience w/ Schwalbe S-One 30mm???

So this doesn't have to be a C&V thread, but since this tire will fit a large number of vintage rides (most of mine, anyway) this is where I'll seek advice.

S-One is a 700c tubular 30mm "racing tire for the toughest jobs". Incorporates their 'V-Guard Protection' (???).
These would be for those off-road rides where cyclocross 32s w/ nobbies are overkill (and heavy).
Any input appreciated.

My only experience with Schwalbe is a large clincher = Marathon Plus 32 - a real commuter dream - that I have on the tandem. Not suitable for a refined 531/SLX frameset.

Or any other 30mm-ish tubulars to be recommended?

I'm running Schwalbe One 28mm tubulars on my '71 Paramount. I love these tires!

They work great on dirt and gravel roads.

So that looks like a huuuge (tall, we can't see width) 28mm; which is the case with my Marathon Plus 32 clincher. Is Schwalbe known for extra rubber? or maybe a different measuring technique? Or different molding profile?

I think I really need a vintage wheelset with 30mm tires that would fit 4 bikes and really expand my ability to experience different framesets in different riding situations. Intriguing.

Perhaps i trust your hands-on opinion better than my interpretation of 2 photos.

Your trust factor is very high in these parts!

I was kind of surprised by this as well. I suppose no one else has ridden Schwalbe One tires, clincher or tubular.

At the moment there is an ebay seller who has a pair of the tires I pictured for about $75 plus shipping. The regular price is about $60-70 each, so this is a real deal. I'm tempted to buy a spare pair I like them so much.
