Hope these photos will show, but I was happiest about giving the '71 motobecane Le Champion to my wife. Inspired by some fall C&V posts about these teal/cream beauties, I bought the frame from a Chicago vintage enthusiast. A previous owner had applied some horrid paint to cover over the cream paint. I removed that and followed @realsteel 's directions for Humbrol gloss varnish. I really like how it turned out. I also got lucky with an rbay France purchase for me. A lejeune champion du minds frame likely built by b. Carre house circa 73-74. Future threads promised on both builds. Merry Christmas!

The only bike related thing was another Brooks B17, in black, but I figure everybody knows what they look like.

I love how those frames are displayed for Christmas. The bow in the bottom bracket shell of the Le Champ is a neat touch. Also, Patagonia puffy for the missus? I got my wife one and she absolutely loves it. Fits her like a Swiss glove too.

Based on recommendations from you all in another thread I put this on my Christmas list:
I mounted it yesterday and took off my old (rather large) frame pump. I can't believe how compact it is. It makes a big difference in the appearance of my bike. I did a test pump and I can see it will be a bit more tiresome to pump up to full pressure, but I can live with that.

Along with spending a wonderful day with my family, I received a new wool Molteni jersey and set of VO toe cages. Both for use in the upcoming Eroica California.

The only thing I received of a bicycling nature was Monkey Light Bike Lights. Pretty cool.
I also received a couple of hardcover Tolkien books with beautiful illustrations. These were on my Amazon wishlist, which was made available to my family members.
My son (12 years old) got my a candle made with a recycled beer bottle.
Santa put a wet razor and blades in my stocking, for a nice C&V-style shave.

I got a weeks worth of Swiftwicks. Just last week, I got the first hole in a pair of Swiftwicks that were a Christmas gift 5 years ago. The red ones are pretty awesome.

I must have been extra nice this year. From my wife I got one Fällkniven PXL, ivory micarta and one Fällkniven P3g, cocobolo. She said she could not decide... Lucky me! Might need to explain that these are folding knives. Nice ones.
I got myself a gift too. Been searching actively for quite some time and suddenly one surfaced - and in my size. I wrote Santa and he said I could go ahed.
Sellers picture. Saddle, seatpost, stem, handlebar, rims and tires - got to go but there rest is fine. Looks like it is a 32 spoke rear and a 36 front - a little odd but I have DA hubs to match up with.
It is one of these - a somewhat rare bird.
A pre-MXL Merckx Corsa Extra in MAX.
Thank you Santa!

Yellow Jersey Racer!!!!!
I can't put it down!! What a great book.
The theme so far is that Lemond was such a natural talent. Aspiring amitures from those early years, late 70's, could see that this boy has the gift and I appetently do not. Maybe it's time I pursue something else.

My Christmas present has been stuck at O'Hare for the past 21 days. Royal Mail seems to know where it is, but the USPS doesn't have a clue. Maybe a customs delay, who knows. Hoping for a New Year's miracle...
Other than that, got a bunch of those chemical heat pack thingies to keep my toes warm. Good thing too, since I think I've consumed about 45,000 calories over the last two days.

Works great. Play around with different blades though. Some definitely have different feel/sharpness than others, and they're all cheap. Can get them in big sampler bags.
I'll never go back to the expensive plastic stuff again.

Thanks, @Vonruden, there are more Lejeune photos on my flickr page. There are some nice Carre details like the fish-mouth ends and the oversize chain stay caps. Here's a photo of pictures so far. Light isn't so great in the basement. Planning a 650b conversion for this one.
