I am waiting on a couple of seatposts from Poland but they disappeared 20 days ago after takeoff. How long do you have to wait before you report something as an undelievered item (the Bay)? They seem to be lost in a Customs vortex.

My brother-in-law got me a motorcycle:
OK, he actually got it for himself. But he brought it down with him to the annual Xmas Eve family gathering in Gig Harbor, because he knew I'd want to give it a ride. I got up early Xmas morn and took it all over the roads of Fox Island. It was sure a lot less work going up those hills, but not enough work to keep me warm! I've never come back from a long bike ride chilled to the bone like that.

What was your seller's transit time estimate in the original listing? I buy lots of little stuff from China and their estimates of 25-35 days transit time are always accurate.

@Lascauxcaveman They were supposed to have arrived on the 19th. I have purchased from abroad in the past with no issues so this is a first.

A couple of years ago I bought a set of Whitworth wrenches through thEBay. They arrived about 45 days later. A few days before their arrival, I had filed a claim that they were lost. I was told that Big Red Toolbox would reship. They must have been able to track the shipment at their end, for they did not duplicate the order.

I wasn't very good this year, so I had to buy my own damn present. With the help of Satbuilder I was able to pick this Colnago up off of a very distant craigslist. Cant wait to get this home. I planned on this being a keeper, more so now that someone went through so much trouble getting it for me.

Sometimes, teenagers are the most verbally inventive!
I got a nice shirt from my in-laws. Recently, I asked them for clothing shopping advice, so it makes sense.

We have the same taste. Those jerseys are outstanding, and I've been wearing ivy caps since college, though this is the first time I'm reading that name for them.

Well, since I have littered the airwaves with my personal drama in other posts , I am happy to report that my Christmas was a bit harried, but mostly peaceful --- there was virtually no interaction with my ex (although I am trying to "re-negotiate", I left her alone for the holidays per her wishes
So instead
-- What did I get for Christmas ?
Well, I got to spend my first Christmas in my new house - a project I oversaw from drawing initial plans to groundbreaking to now doing the very last minute final fine details --- but it was good enough for the purposes of the holiday season
I spent time with my mom -- my family is mourning the loss of a relative in her age bracket, so I remind myself every day that every day is a gift --- she has always had my back (Buttercup does too, but the bulk of her loyalties reside with whoever is holding the tastiest treats )
On Christmas Day , some good friends surprised me by gracing the house with some Christmas cheer -- this came together pretty quickly and without much advance notice, but they brought some nice pot luck entrees and I was able to bake a turkey breast and provide some fresh veggies from the coffers
(recall what I said about the dog's loyalty to anyone with food - LOL)
For me it cant get much better than that - good friends telling old stories and trying to get comfortable in my sparsely furnished abode, and spending time with my mom, and my brother's family the night before
--- there is a saying I will paraphrase that goes something like
"For Christmas, The older I get , the more I want things that cannot be purchased"
But -- lest anyone thinks I completely neglected myself , I did provide, for my own amusement , an unfired 1967 Canadian Centennial model 94 Winchester in 30/30 caliber with an octagonal 26" long barrel and full length mag tube
-------- I try to live the C&V lifestyle in many facets of my life
Paid a visit to a motorcycle dealership today for other reasons but spied this -
-- If anyone has any influence on Santa Claus for next year --- I will be requesting this Scrambler style standard from Yamaha though! - such a cool machine . Price is -- well, it is what it is -- i'd rather pick one up after someone has put the first 3 or 4 thousand miles on it for a bit of a discount, but I didn't even know they were making such a thing !

My wife scored me a set of shearling lined LL Bean boots. I've been wanting a set of LL Bean boots for a few years, and these are mighty, mighty nice. I don't expect them to be Arctic proof- but should be applicable for most of winter.

Those are great ! --- I have a pair from a different maker, but a similar boot --- they have kept me warm sitting in a stadium watching some cold weather football games a number of times ---- that's a true test is how they do when you are sitting still for 3 hours
Isn't Waukesha where the movie "Grumpy Old Men" was placed ?

Very cool Lejeune, @JT1973. Maybe start a thread once the parts start trickling in.
