unknown shimano bike parts search
hi, new to the forum, i have a old shimano stickered bike that my dad bought in singapore in approx 1984. from a proper bike shop, but cant find any info on shimano making a whole bike, rather than parts for bikes. hoping someone might shed some light for me, im trying to get parts to service it and keep it going, but ideally correct to the age of the bike...
help is appreciated!

If you're curious about the frame maker's identity, details like serial numbers could really help narrow it down.
That shouldn't be hard to do, regardless of the frame's identity. If we could see the bike's components clearly, like derailleurs for example, we should be able to identify them. There's a good chance they even have model numbers and maybe even date codes stamped right into them.

A picture of the head badge and the logo on the seat tube would also help identify.

What parts are you looking for.
Things like bearings and grease are pretty standard.
A few sizes of tires, but it is usually written on the sidewall, or could be measured.
You might do better trying to estimate the age of the parts.

Like CliffordK I wonder what the OP is really after. If servicing parts are the goal then the normal channels are the best source. The LBS is first if one doesn't have much knowledge, online if you know what you need or can handle the hassle of returns if you choose wrong.
I also agree that Shimano never made complete bikes themselves. But they might have contracted their name for a complete bike at one time. Andy.
