My Mid-1980's, Raleigh Racing USA Custom Order_ Gipiemme
Posting photos of my mid 1980's Raleigh that I custom ordered from Raleigh as a frame set from The Spoke bike shop in Boulder. This frame made in England, not Asia. Delivered with a DuraAce headset. Having many other bikes this frame did not get built up until a few years ago. Has not been ridden since build. I did not want to build with Shimano and I have a few Campy equipped bikes, so I set out to assemble a Gipiemme group. I posted about Exploit a few weeks ago. Cinelli stem and bars. Ambrosio Montreal rims. Rolls saddle.

Gipiemme! Nice to see a bike built using that stuff. We don't see it that much these days, though it was fairly popular once. Anyways, cool late period Raleigh for sure, and it looks perfect with that equipment.

That freewheel is tight for sure. It is an alloy Gipiemme Chrono Special. If I actually rode the bike I'd change it. Do not think I could get around Colorado very well with those gears!⛰. The bike is incredibly light though.
