I wish I could stumble across something like that. Notice I didn't pick something like a shiny Bianchi X-4 or De Rosa but something obscure that could plausibly be stuffed in a barn for decades.

It was supposed to be 'Hillbilly Country' not county just denoting, as mentioned I was in the sticks.

Yeah - but anyone with one of those barns would have some American bike if they had anything at all (presuming the barn was still standing at all). It was one of the better efforts I've seen though. Definitely some credit for that.

Having been stuck here in Kentucky for the past 3 years, I've given considerable thought to trying to perpetrate an April Fool's story about the Ohio River being renamed the Kentucky River (since it does have more miles defining the Kentucky border than it does any other state). The complication is that there already is some podunk waterway named the Kentucky River. Good hoaxes are getting harder to pull off in the information age.

Oh yeah, April fools. Good one either way...!

I was cutting my hair, or what's left of it, earlier today/yesterday inside the hour of leaving for my girlfriend's best friend's bday party. Started swearing in the bathroom after making my head even uglier with the clippers. Short patch here, long there... I explained how the clippers jammed and wouldn't work anymore. Asked if it looked good enough for the party...

That was just what makes a good April Fools joke: subtlety. You fooled me, darn it (although I did wonder what such an obscure English make was doing in rural US).

Incidentally, my next build is going to be a 1930s Bates BAR.

I didn't have time to make another post but I had concocted a story about an Uncle bringing it back after the war or so someone rembered....

And there's an early post-war Bates BAR just about to go on eBay: Bates BAR 1950 Original Enamel. Rare and beautiful. Reynolds 531. Vintage eroica

Here's a picture for posterity:

That's beautiful but a tad small.
