Koga-Miyata full pro query
I just bought what I thought was a budget bike to lock around town and not worry about... but it appears to be a full pro. Anyone on this forum know much about serials and markings for Koga Miyata? It has pro on the seat stay and a serial of J4xxxxx which I think makes it 1981. Also has either g100 or 6100 stamped on the BB shell.
I'm not particularly interested in value - its a great bike. Just interested in finding out more, if anyone on here can share their knowledge it would be appreciated. Any idea how many of these were built?
cheers
Anthony

Yes, a J-code designates 1981 manufacture and it's low enough that it shouldn't be a 1982 model manufactured in late 1981. Koga-Miyata brochures are here: https://www.koga.com/en/service/broc...2000-1976).htm

Thanks T-Mar. I wondered if maybe a frame built up in 82, good to know its likely to be 81. It was covered in purple paint and converted to fixed gear and nothing original. I thought it would be a v low end KM. I've read that Tange tubing from this era is really good stuff.
