DL-1 Lightning Strikes Twice

I acquired a second Raleigh DL-1 with the 22" frame off Craigslist (Pictures when I figure out how.) A 1978, no white flash on the rear fender, a CPSC bolt on red rear reflector. Replacement chain, otherwise mint. Came with TWO Brooks B-66 saddles, not "correct" but will do nicely. This time I only had to drive to West Chester, PA-only about 90 minutes. The first one I drove all the way to Duxbury, MA-over 5 hours ! It was worth it.

Bikes: Lots of English 3-speeds, a couple of old road bikes, 3 mountain bikes, 1 hybrid, and a couple of mash-ups

Around that time the Brooks B-66 was the original saddle AFAIK.

And if you don't want the other B-66, PM me.

Suspension saddles go well with roadsters IMO. Adds to the smooth luxury feel. I'm sure the extra B66 won't be going to waste.
Let's see those pictures.

I have installed it on my first DL-1, which came with a B-72-which I have installed on another 3-speed. I use a 24t cog on the rear hub, a local bike has a half link which a has a screw head bolt and square nut, easier to install, better design IMHO. Now if I could just find another Midland rack....

Congrats, but I thought you were referring to another recent DL-1 thread. But she got a pair, so it's hard to figure which way the lightning is striking. 😁
