Even if we had this gathering here I would still attend the Ride of Silence. I can drink beer later. Andy

I will make a point of opening a bottle of beer at 8:30 EST and raise it in a westward direction.

Ditto! Thought it might be wine in my case.

And a proper pint (or two) it was!

I was amazed at all of the new construction in what was a very industrial area of San Jose. With two bedroom apartments going for DINK salaries, there's definitely a need for more housing.

Great to meet @squirtdad. I got there a bit earlier than he did, saw someone ride up on a Miyata, quickly checked BF on my phone, and saw it was in his quiver. We ended up sitting on bar stools around a table with two guys that were in construction, their 11-12ish daughters were playing Monopoly there as well. We talked a bit about the semiconductor biz, which we're both gainfully employed in, house projects and living in a construction zone until recently, and the joyus of parenthood. Oh, and a bit about bikes as well!

And just a friendly reminder that anyone coming up to Portlandia, just give us a holler and we'll pull out the red carpet.

Well, @squirtdad bought the first round, me the second, but I forgot my credit card when I left. I had a bit of time on Thursday before my plane took off, so I stopped by Hapa Brewing on the way to the airport and picked it up. They weren't quite open yet, so I took a stroll through Good Karma bike shop. Squirtdad volunteers at this non-profit from time to time. If you live in the Bay Area, treat yourself to a visit. You might find a perfect n+1 bike there!

Here's a few that caught my eye:

Univega Super Strada

Claud Butler Reynolds 531 mixte

Classic Raleigh Super Course with original Brooks saddle, still in good shape:
