More Help on the U. S. Express

I finally got the S/N off of that Peugeot U. S. Express I got for my wife: Y002 05399

Does anyone know where I can decipher this?

The frame was made in France, in February 1990. While US Express was a legitimate Peugeot model, it was not catalogued in the USA or Canada in 1990. Are you sure that is the model name?

I have pictures in my other thread, "Peugeot US Express Assistance." You can't see the graphic clearly in this, but it's back by the seat tube.

It really appears so. I found a 1990 Dutch brochure, which had the US express with the 3x5 S/H derailleur, but it only came in white, in a men's style. I would really like to see the 1990 brochure from France. Everything points to this being a French-built bike.

Yes, it's non-American market, based on the generator tab.
