Bob Freeman's Vintage Show n' Ride
Every year for the past 3/4 years Bob Freeman has put together a ride/show at his house in North Bend. I think this would be the third I've attended.
Missed the ride (woke up with a splitting sinus headache), but got over to his place with my Colnago for display around noon. It seems everyone got back from the ride (Snoqualmie River Middle Fork) just about that time. Met up with @Wildwood, @Andy Antipas, @northbend, @alexmoll and others from the CR list. Had a nice little chat with Matt, getting some good insight into his mega-cycling-tour to CO and caught up with a few others I'd not seen in months if not a year.
Nice collection of vintage steel. I even saw something I may well make a deal on in a couple days. The bike is in the pics below; feel free to take a guess
Enjoy the pics, and anyone else who was there, feel free to post up pics, especially from the ride. Thanks!
Overview of the display area:
Early-70s Colnago Super:
Early-70s Stella:
Mid-70s Masi GC:
My old 1969 Masi Special, since sold to Bob:
@Wildwood's quiver:
@Andy Antipas' quiver:
My '83 Mexico:

Sounds like fun. I would like to make that some time. I am guessing the Gold Colnago (?). Very pretty bike!

I had it all ready to ride, too, but for waking up with a head that just wanted to forget about ever waking up!

I really really like that green Super.
Too bad I did not know of this beforehand, a friend has a show worthy bike and just mentioned Bob in an email.
He is not on any forums, just likes the classic bikes.

I did not count the number of bikes while at the house but if counting from my pics is accurate = about 44 standing in the long line and at least 15 in other spaces around the yard or on the ground. So 60 for show and others in many of the parked cars.
C&V Heaven, and many my size.

A couple/three more pics. Oh, and I'd agree we had around 60 bikes total. I helped Bob put his bikes away at the end of the day and we moved at least 30. Some guys like @Wildwood and @Andy Antipas brought four bikes each, so you can see how quickly 60 bikes can be amassed by 30-or-so people.
A better overview showing the "main line":

Bob Freeman's Show and Ride
Another excellent bicycle Saturday in the Pacific Northwest! It was good to ride with Stewart and provide him with a Cinelli XA stem in exchange for some barcons that he gave me up at Tim's cave a couple of weeks ago. I spent some time chatting with Jeff (DD), and he taught me a few things about my Colnago Mexico, which was great. The ride was excellent as well. Corey Thompson was there riding his custom rando bike that he built about 9 years ago, and I spent some time chatting with him. Corey is one of the local PNW frame builders specializing in rando bikes. I'm sure Corey and Gugie would have enjoyed comparing notes. Lots of beautiful (mostly racing) bikes. Plus, there were some cool older rando bikes. As usual, I didn't take as many pictures as I should have.

I guess I had that one ^^^^^^^ wrong, but I could've sworn it said "Routens" on the downtube. I look at my pic in Flickr blown up and it still seems to read "Routens", but also something else.
Any Francophiles want to help out? Why would it say Routens on the downtube and Andreolety on the head badge? I am absolutely at sea when it comes to most French stuff, and I only know enough of the language to get my face slapped

Someone told me, Routens bike with headbadge possibly from a large shop selling the brand. I have no ability to confirm or deny.
edit: answer lies with Andreolety in Grenoble.

I think perhaps, like me, you are not yet one of the inner circle. One day, we'll know the secret handshake.

Hmmmm...
Well, I have put out info on stuff like this out before, but the response was almost nil. I figgered this time I'd just report afterwards. However, if you guys might be interested, there are still two different vintage shows at the tail end of August.
Saturday, August 26th in Redmond:
"Join us for a show of vintage road and track racing bicycles in conjunction with the Fred C. Rehberger NW Track Championships. Come watch top track racing and see cycling history alive in the beer garden.
Where: Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome at Marymoor Park, Redmond WA
Saturday, August 26th 3:00-9:00pm
Contact: Lane Wilkinson; 206-553-9299 or shellylane@comcast.net if interested in displaying
Please bring a stand to support your bike(s) & if possible a brief description to be attached to each bike."
Sunday, 27 August in Anacortes:
"It's time to plan for the 10th annual Classic Bike Show in Anacortes. This year the date is Sunday, 27 August and we have Bill Davidson of Davidson Custom Bikes in Seattle as our main attraction. Bill has made over 6000 custom bikes since 1973, beginning at Elliott Bay Cycles in Seattle and now working with Max Kullaway (a custom Ti builder) at a new shop in Fremont. We hope to attract a lot of old Davidson steel frame bikes, but expect Bill to talk you into one of his newer pieces of work during the show. We also hope to have back both Bob Freeman and Jeff Groman who featured in our show last year. Attached is a registration form for the 2017 show, and as we did last year we will have awards for the top two "Peoples Choice" selections. In addition, we plan to have a short ride starting at 1000 around the Anacortes area. The Classic Bike booth will officially open at 1100, and the riders should be back about that time."
This event has coincided with the annual "Anacortes Open Streets" celebration for quite some time. I first participated in the ride/show back in 2011 or so, then did it again just a couple years back. Nice ride both times, not sure how far the guys running the show these days plan to go. Anyway, a fun time to show/ride/talk bikes - and other stuff.
The Marymoor Park Velodrome event is an unknown quantity to me, but it's only 12 miles away, so I pretty much have to go to that one
If anyone is interested in a copy of the aforementioned registration form, give me an email addy and I'll hook you up.
There's the secret handshake, fellas!

Thanks, DD, for the notices of upcoming events. I've now got them on my calendar. I had Bob's deal on my calendar but just couldn't squeeze it in. Maybe I'll make one of the upcoming ones.
But I'm always at the bike swap in February ... see you there.

Dang I would have liked to done that event. I even saw almost an identical bike of mine in one of the shots, the white Masi behind the green Colonago. That is different than mine in that mine has a signature on the TT by the seat post, pantograph engraving on the gooseneck and seat post, Masi (3ttt?) branded handlebars and some pantogragh on the big chain ring, along with Masi labeled tubular rims. My Masi hasn't get much ride time lately. The wheel set hasn't been used for probably 20 or so years. However I did last month a new tire for it last month. I rode it once last spring, but I haven't used it reagularly for 25 about the time I bought my house.
I've had a few people tell me I should contact Bob to help me complete a few builds.
DD thanks for post and the pictures.

I do not really know Bob, but in a brief conversation, I mentioned that I needed help with a Delta brake adjustment, was there anyone at the gathering who still wrenches other folk's bikes. He responded, 'Love to help you but I'm busy for the next couple of months, at least.' But he offered a name, luckily. The guys within earshot all recommended dumping the early Deltas for a real brake.

I wonder the median age of attendees?
Almost felt like a kid in the crowd.
But that was just a feeling, for sure.
AND my 1980s grouping of bikes, were definitely on the young side of those assembled.
