Question about removing cranks from a Motobecane

Hi all:

My wife recently trashed her '78 Grand Touring mixte; I'd like to remove and keep the crankset, which is an (aftermarket) Sugino Maxy. Can I assume a standard crank tool would do the trick? I have no interest in the bottom bracket, just the crankset.

Thanks!

Roy

.
...yes, the socket for the removal tool on a Sugino Maxy is the standard diameter. Nothing fancy or confusing about them.

+1. It's rare for me to trash a bike or component without banging myself up in the process.

Thanks, yeah, it was kind of a freak impact with a car; my wife is a very limber person, so she was able to roll off and escape with only a few scrapes and bruises, but the bike took a hard hit to the side, and the bottom bracket actually twisted at an angle to the rest of the frame. We were very lucky; I can always replace a bike.
