Saddle Test Pilot
RHM and I worked a trade recently. On my end I received an experimental saddle based and built on a Brooks B72 frame. I put it on my Sears/Steyr "Scorcher" today and took it for a 6 mile test ride. I found it to be comfortable; although it may need to be tightened soon. I'm going to put it on the Raleigh Olympic that is my everyday ride as soon as I can source a straight alloy seat post of the right diameter. Here are a few photos...
BTW - Good work Rudy!

I got the seatpost in yesterday's mail and installed the saddle today on the everyday Raleigh Olympic. Then I went for a 12 mile ride to test it (12 miles is about the farthest I ride around town). It fits like a glove and has just enough spring to it. @rhm thanks.

Interesting! What's the story behind the "crest"?

Forgive me; what I meant was what's the story behind the brand/seal that Rudi stamped on the side?

The wheels are not marked, but probably Austrian or German since the "scorcher" was made by Steyr for Sears. The 3 speed hub and shifter are also Steyr products (licensed from Sturmey Archer I think).

I don't know, you would have to ask Rudi about that. I suspect that he employs poor Welshmen in his enterprise. Here I expose a few that survived the sweatshop that he must run.

My father's family is from the town of Lindau in Germany, and that design is based on a 17th century coin issued there. It has no particular significance, I just like the design, which is a stylized Linden tree. It's some kind of visual pun, linden tree for Lindau.

That is pretty neat! I've got a B72 that's starting to fall apart, and can't bring myself to toss. I might have to check this out! Can we get a picture from the nose or rear to get a better sense of the "cutout" ergo molding?
