What year was my bike made?

I recently bought a used trek 520. It has a reynolds 531 frame. How can I tell what year it's from?

Look under the bottom bracket for the serial number, then go to Trek's web site and email their support staff to find out more about your bike.

Amc

Can someone help me find more info on my bicycle? The plate on the front says AMC Flash. The seat bar has a made in USA label. Below that is the serial number. The stand goes under the rear tire. There is a head light on the front fender. If you turn the front wheel, you can lock the wheel in place. On the rear wheel hub it says New Departure Model D Made in USA. Any help would be great!

Reubenq -
Thrifty Bill's scary picture is just a reference to resurrecting a very old dead thread.

If you don't get the information you seek here - your might want to try the forum at the CABE - they specialize more in these types of bikes.
