Howdy Everyone,

Here's my vintage MTB stash. A Raliegh Elkhorn Mountain Tour: Deore/Biopace/triple butted/bull horns/Conti Contacts 1.5" for rustling around the city. Reasonably light, fast and smooth.

The second is a Peugeot Canyon Express: Exage/Biopace/Dbl butted Tange/Nashbar 15* 115gr bar. I have the original bar but it weighs more than the bike....well almost it seems. I really like the color...metallic Salmon. It changes color hue with angle and shade. I ride this out to the desert and try to explore all I can. It's time now in AZ to head north for the fire roads and trails around the rim.

Oh boy, it is too late to start taking pictures. But tonight I picked up the hardtail I've been thinking I want to start navigating CO trails. Today on CL a Diamondback Apex TT Pro popped up in my size. Took it home in ready to ride condition...so ready that I stopped for 10 miles of singletrack.

My first titanium frame, loaded with fancy parts. And being from 1993-95, my newest bike!

Thats it. Seller was almost spot-on my size for fit. Talked him down a bit based on a small dent in the downtube, and the potential difficulty of finding a replacement 60cm travel fork. Pretty loaded up: Mavic CrossLink hubs (very smooth) to rims (quite light), XT FD/RD, RaceFace crank, XTR v-brakes, 9-speed gripshifts, nice stem/bars/seatpost, Salsa brake-bridge stabilizer, Rock Shox Judy SL fork, Time pedals (and Shimano shoes with matching cleats in my size.) It'll get me through a season or two with this configuration, then I can start thinking about fork upgrades etc. Was really fun on the 10 inaugural miles. Very good climber.

Picked up this Miyata Ridge Runner TEAM last week and have not cleaned it up yet - based on the Flanders sticker I suspect it was used by or sponsored by the Flanders team. Seller had no info on it and it was listed for several weeks with no interest - sold it for what wouldn't buy two tires.

Incredible, that it didn't sell quicker, it looks all business. And it's gorgeous with the two-tone Miyata scheme.

agree WNG - the paint scheme for the TEAMS just get to me - am fortunate to have found it and for the price it just makes it that much better Still have not cleaned her up or ridden her. Took a50 mile ride though on a recent purchase Surly LHT on our 63 mile gravel trail through the country that was once an RR track.

This is my daily commuter. It is a 1987 Schwinn High Sierra with roller cam brakes. I think off this bike and others like it as the original Surly Long Haul Trucker. If I were to tour on this bike I would probably swap out the bars for some trekking bars. On the current wish list / todo list for this bike is a front rack and metal fenders (either Berthound or VO). I'm even thinking of getting some fenders powder coated.

Purchased around jan2014 this CADEX C-F-M-1 for $9...... let me just say it had all it's original parts minus tires of course after 21yrs(my super modify project bike) after some slight tuning the Beauty was now single front chain ring n challenge ready 22lbs no extra wt it is now under 20 around 18lbs I guessing ........... well as it sat at the open air market near my hale for $9........D five pole dancing dollars hot damn you couldn't contain me for even 10hrs of free sex with Brook Shields ran to ATM n back, quick quick quick take my money NOW!!! did you say... you just said 95 dollars right here here here take my money!!!!!!!!! road it home the rims nearly true the shocks need no new parts just cleaned spotless, filled w/a bit of fluid n pump up everything working great after cleaned n oiled w/a few upgrades in components at the taking of photo here.

just giving you a heads up the roller cams are not as good when placed on the upside of the back wheel they found out early on so the placed them below the bottom bracket on the underside basically similar to how the front brake is positioned so as to function it also helps to add a stabilizer bar-thing-a-ma-jiggy to the rollercams

I looked at that about three weeks ago. Seller was originally asking $375 IIRC. I saw it was down to $150. What did it finally get to? Nice light frame, but pretty neglected and clumsily spot painted in several places.

Yes revcp - the poor touch-up was a condition issue the seller did not mention. I made it clear I wanted him to list any issues prior my long drive to see the TEAM. First thing I saw was the poor touch-up on a few spots. So I said "well that's an issue and a big one" and then took it for a test ride - and offered a take-it-or-leave-it $50 and he took it. I think he may have tried flipping some bikes and got over his head. It gives me a project well worth the time - and will be riding it in the meantime. Every old bike has a personality and a history, and I wish I knew this one's history.

Still been riding it too much to take good pictures. Only updates are some new tires found around my basement to get a bit more grip up front, a bit less rolling resistance in the back. The Axis TT is a blast on trails. Perhaps a bit too quick-steering for me. Eventually will be slowed down a bit by a longer-travel fork/slacker angles.

Here it is on a post-work ride at Lair O' The Bear yesterday.

I found it as is; unridden, and unmolested. It's now just unmolested. Every nut, bolt, cable, etc is original. Aside from a few superficial scratches from not being stored properly/being moved around, it's perfect.

@ItsTimeToBike, For $50 it's a great deal. Like you, I drove a long way to see it (we're in the north metro, Lino Lakes), and, like you, I was disappointed that what he billed as a bike in decent shape was not at all. I don't mind tearing down and fixing up, but I was irritated to have been led by the nose. The condition of the paint was the deal breaker for me, and would be even at $50. I have a 1990 Team Miyata road bike and my interest in the MTB was in having a mate. Only a repaint would have achieved that end, but it could never have looked right. If you powdercoat the frame, repack everything and trade out half the components for working pieces from your parts bin you will have a very, very fine bike for a minimal investment. Kudos!

I saw that one on eBay, I think you got a pretty good deal! However despite what the seller listed I'm 99% sure it's an '86 (I have an '87 in that color). I'd be interested to know the first two or three digits of the frame serial number under the bottom bracket (indicates when the frame was made) and the 4-digit date stamp on the headbadge (indicates the day the bike was built).

Here's my '87. I'm the original owner and in this pic the bike is all original except for the tires and saddle (I've since reinstalled the original saddle, wish I would have kept the original tires!). It has a Sept. '86 frame (I6xxxxx serial) and was built on Jan. 29th 1987 (0297 badge):
