Hi All,

I have a 1983 (plus or minus 1 year) Benotto track bike. I am the original owner and I bought it just before the 1984 Olympics. I don't have any photos of it right now (may have some to post later) but I am wondering if it has much vintage value.

There are no decals on the frame (never were) indicating what kind of tubeset they used but I am pretty sure that the frame was made in Mexico. It has what used to be a chrome fork.

So any ideas of its value? I have a new Bianchi Pista Concept frame coming and I am trying to figure out if I should put the Benotto on ebay or if it is valuable enough to keep.

TIA.

I sold a really clean early 80's Mexican Benotto track frame with chrome fork at the Trexlertown Velodrome last year for just under $400. Dunno if that helps at all.

Hi,

Yes that helps. Mine is far from pristine -- no dents, but the chrome on the fork is shedding like snakeskin.

I will either put it on ebay or see if there is a Junior racer who needs a good beginning track frame.
