Giant Perigee

Not sure if this fits in the classic forums yet, but here's a shot.

A friend of mine is looking to get into riding, but is on a limited budget. Another friend of mine is selling a mid 90's Giant Perigee triple(dark blue), with RSX brifters, FD,RD and Exage brakes. The frame is a 9.5 out of 10 and was well taken care of. It is chromoly with a steel fork and basic 32/36 spoked wheels. The tires are newer, but it needs a new chain and will soon need 2 front chainrings. Other than those little things, the bike is great and the key........it fits well.

A problem I am running in to is info on the bike. I can't really find anything about whether this was touring or semi-racing, etc.
The major problem though is the asking price. The owner of the bike thinks maybe $100-150 for it. Is this a good ballpark for a bike of this condition? I realize that it's worth what someone is willing to pay, but I don't want either friend getting ripped off.

Thanks for any insight.

I dont know for sure and alot will depend on your area nut I'd say 150 was a little on the low side. Around here any bike with brifters is at least 200.

Yeah, in Holland such a bike would do between 150 and 250 euro's I guess. I think you need to post pics here, they love it
