Shift cable housing problem
I have installed an old Simplex front derailer and when I shift from the small to the large chainring, the section of cable housing at the bottom bracket "kicks out" away from the frame. How do I keep it from doing that--short of duct taping it the frame? See pix of the state of the housing in low gear and in high gear.

That shot of the bb looks exactly like my 1970 Raleigh Grand Prix. What bike is that? The braze on cable guides and routing of the front der cable are exactly the same. To not help answer your question: mine does the same thing when I shift. Sorry.

Do you have any extra cable housing?
That housing shown may be a tiny bit too long, but don't experiment on it by cutting it! Try a peplacement piece first.
Just a guess.
Good luck.
