Phil Wood Bottom Bracket Cups: Alternatives?

Are there any BB cups that are interchangeable with the Phil Wood ones? I'd like to save a little money if I can.

Thanks,
DG1

Nope, not that I know of. But, going the other way, I've heard you can use the Phil rings with certain Japanese BB cartridges, I think some Suntour AKA SR units will work...experts may chime in, here. That aside, I am a big fan of Phil Wood and even though their stuff is pricey, I gladly pay their price to help keep them in business...imagine a world where a couple overpaid bean-counters decide their retirement plans require that Phil Wood & Co. must cut corners and outsource all that "overpriced" stuff to backwater China...oh wait... we live in it!

Ah, forgive the rant...I drinks a bit. Just thought of another angle: EDCO. I recall that you can mount EDCO BBs with Phil rings, so probably vice-versa. That won't help you much tho...if you think Phil rings cost too much, wait till you see what EDCO stuff goes for! (When you can find it...)

Miche makes a bottom bracket that is very similar in design to Phil Wood. I paid $25 for a new one. It's for track and is too short for my application. I can't say if the rings are interchangeable with Phil Wood rings, but I think they might work with a Shimano UN-72.
