Is this Schwinn worth it?
I "found" this bike on CL and am going to check it out tomorrow--it's described as a "Le Tour Luxe," w/4130 frame, suntour deraileurs, sakae "super custom" cranks, diacompe brakes and a rear rack. Looks to be in good shape, and the guy is asking $125, but I think I'm going to try to get him down closer to $100. So...I guess the question is, does this bike warrant shelling out $100?

If I were in the market for a bike, and it was my size, and it is in good shape, I would think $100 would be a good buy. $125 wouldn't be out of the ballpark since it is cromoly.
I was outbid on a Le Tour IV (1020 tubes) at about $150 because I wanted the specific model and color, so yes, $125 for a cromoly Luxe sounds OK to me.

I picked up a shiny red and chrome Super LeTour 12.2 this last weekend for my gf, Japanese made 4130 cromoly frame, for $65. I don't know how the model compares with the LeTour Luxe (higher or lower?) but I felt like I got a pretty darn good deal on it for what it is. If your is comparable, $100 sounds reasonable to me.

Man it's nice to live in a rural area. Bought 3 LeTour's in the last month, a 79 for 10, an 80 for 10, and a really nice 84 4130 for twenty bucks.

I wouldn't pay $100 for it but I don't like road bikes. It seems about what one aught to go for though if that's your bag. $125 would be pushing it I think.

Would I pay 125 for a decent Le Tour?
These are GOOD bikes with well made smooth riding frames. If you need a bike now and don't have time to bargain hunt then 125 will get you a bike you can ride all day long.
